No AI

Every single line of prose that’s not an explicit quote is written entirely by me. Every line of code on this site is written either entirely by me or a piece of open source software written by one of the fine projects or individuals credited in the “shoutouts” page.

I have never and will never use AI to generate anything on this site. I have never and will never use AI to “prototype”, or to “review”, or to play any role at any stage of my personal creative process.

I don’t care about speed. I don’t care about “more”. If I don’t have the time or energy to write something, I won’t. If I don’t have the time or energy to create something, I won’t. There are other humans in the world that deserve to have the space to share.

I will continue to use em dashes like I’ve been doing since I first (poorly) began using them back in 2015. Similarly, I’ll continue to use “not only X, but Y” whenever strikes my fancy like I’ve been doing since my very first article. I refuse to mutilate my writing style simply to present myself as more “human” to other humans that are rightfully dubious because LLMs have forever poisoned the well of human communication.

I will never sacrifice my integrity at the alter of “content”, as if producing “more” in and of itself is a virtue worth the sacrifice of true human expression. I have few articles, few projects, and fewer still that are worth anyone’s time. But it’s unapologetically human, every bit of it, and always will be.
